G 4-2 R
DESCRIPTION:
The Gyrocopter G 4-2 R (Gyro For Two powered by Rotax) was developed by Trixy Aviation and earned its German certification on January 12, 2012. It is designed according to the stringent rules of ultra-light gyrocopter with 2 seats which allow for a MTOW of 450 kg.
Designing a sturdy, comfortable and light weight aircraft was challenging but a successful engineering job. The design in tandem configuration was chosen for best load distribution and best aerodynamic performance. The choice of stainless steel frame was made for reliability and ease of maintenance. The carbon fiber sandwich construction of the cabin, canopy, engine compartment and tail reduces weight with no safety compromise.
Rotax engines, Averso rotors, DUC propellers, wheels and hydraulic brakes made by Beringer and anti-explosion fuel tanks made by M.E.Rin are known to be the best in the world. There was no compromise about using the best to insure flight safety in the standard gyrocopter.
The pilot work load is also an important safety issue. The NESIS glass cockpit was specially designed to deliver all flight, navigation and engine information to the pilot at a glance. Visual and acoustic warnings for rotor, engine, fuel and CO concentration in the cabin provides all a pilot wishes for under normal and distressed flight conditions.
Optional flight controls and flight instruments at the rear seat turn the comfortable and safe gyroplane into the best trainer there is. The optional removable canopy glass cover was designed to suit flying in different climate conditions. The design allows for easy removal on the ground with no need for tools in just 30 seconds. The reasonable size of the canopy cover helps storing in a small space. It fits in the back seat of almost any car. The windshield stays on the canopy to protect the pilot from wind and foreign objects. The open canopy coveys the feeling of freedom in warm climates and allows unrestricted joy of photography and videography. In just a few seconds, the cabin can be covered for a cool morning flight or tough wintry climate. Flying in OAT as low as -20 °C remains a great pleasure with the optional cabin heating system.
It is truly a convertible gyrocopter!!
The large and comfortable design of the cabin with the leather seat padding conveys the feeling of a first class cabin. Traveling over the weekend with two large storage compartments under the rear seat is unmatched in the UL gyro-class.
Tough load and flight tests for months have proven that G 4-2 R is easy enough to be flown by a student pilot, but it can also deliver the performance which seasoned pilots would expect with no safety compromises.
High quality, maintenance free rotor head, bearings and bushings are used to reduce maintenance requirements.
